Role Summary:
Experienced hands-on technician responsible for lathe operation, die fitting, tooling maintenance and producing machined components to drawing specifications for automotive parts production. Work within a busy workshop, supporting product accuracy, process reliability and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and set up conventional lathes, milling machines and related metalworking equipment to produce components to drawing specifications.
- Perform die fitting, assembly and adjustment of tooling and fixtures; ensure dies are mounted, aligned and secured correctly for production runs.
- Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and surface finish requirements and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers and gauges.
- Carry out routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues and make minor repairs to machines and dies.
- Collaborate with production planners and quality control to ensure first-pass yield and minimize rework.
