Role overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support transactional accounting, month-end close, regulatory compliance and financial reporting for rail and road operations. The role involves processing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining ledgers and reconciliations, assisting statutory filings and supporting external audits.
Key responsibilities
- Process and record AP, AR and general ledger entries in accordance with company policies
- Reconcile bank statements, intercompany accounts and balance sheet accounts monthly
- Prepare month-end and year-end adjusting entries, accruals and schedules to support financial close
- Assist with statutory tax filings, VAT/Sales tax reconciliations and support external audits with schedules/documentation
- Monitor and analyze expense trends and cost allocations; explain variances to management
- Support payroll data verification and ensure accurate posting of payroll-related journals
- Maintain fixed asset register and calculate depreciation
