We are a growing U.S.-based behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment organization looking for an experienced Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our team remotely. This is not a general virtual assistant position. The role requires hands-on experience with U.S. healthcare claims, insurance companies, denials, accounts receivable, and revenue cycle management.

Responsibilities
- Submit and track medical claims accurately and on time
- Review claims for errors before submission
- Work rejected and denied claims
- Follow up on unpaid and underpaid claims
- Manage insurance Accounts Receivable (A/R)
- Review aging reports and prioritize outstanding balances
- Contact insurance companies regarding claim status and payment issues
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Verify authorization requirements
- Track prior authorizations and ensure services are properly authorized
- Review EOBs and ERAs
- Post insurance payments and adjustments
- Identify incorrect payments and underpayments
- Correct and resubmit claims when necessary
