Job Description
The Risk and Market Surveillance department of Pakistan Mercantile Exchange is led by the Chief Risk Officer (CRKO) who reports directly to the Managing Director and additionally to the Chairman of Risk Committee of the Board. The key responsibilities of CRO include following
- Proactively identify emerging risk and advice the management or the Board on appropriate risk management options;
- Conduct reviews of current or emerging high risk and high-profile activities
- Assist functional heads and managers at all levels across the organization to ensure that risk management is embedded at an operational level within the business and that staff at all levels are aware of and manage risk as a core part of their responsibilities;
- Provide early risk management advice to the Board and senior managers on new or unusual activities; Liaison with other specialist external advisors on the control environment and tracking the implementation of recommendations;
- Advising or training staff at all levels on core and on-going risk management issues (e.g. anti-fraud practices, the identification of ‘red flags and the importance of customer / supplier due diligence).
- Provide business continuity advice to the Management and Board, including acting as a member of the Crisis Management Team if required;
- Oversee market surveillance activities and report to management about any market abuse, price manipulation and malpractices.
- Ensure that information security controls are adequately placed.
- Any other task assigned by theManaging Director.
Education Required:
Professional qualification in Finance (CA or CFA), Actuarial Science and/or Risk Management or quantitative finance.
Years of Previous Experiences:
Having 10+ Years of experience in one or more areas of risk management (like Market, Credit, and liquidity, Operational or Enterprise Risk.) or Audit of relevant functions
